High low white top + Black Basics

Panama’s weather has been going all kinds of crazy lately. From almost tropical storm weather to summer heat, you just don’t know what to expect when you wake up every morning. The last couple of days have been so hot, there was no possible way I could leave my house wearing jeans or pants and I didn’t feel like wearing a dress!!

Looking through my closet, I found this high-low top. I had only worn it once, but it looked like the perfect outfit topper for this hot summer day. I reached for my favorite black shorts (which are super comfy) and black t-shirt to wear them as a “canvas”. When I put the ensemble on, I was surprised by it. I didn’t expect to like the outfit as much as I did it. It looked polished, chic and very modern, perfect for the meetings I had that day.

I guess that one of the reasons I always go for black and white is that no matter the season, these colors always look great and elegant. In all honesty, I am a sucker for black clothing. I’m the type of girl who walks into a store and is always attracted by dark and simple basics that I can later pair with fun and trendy statement pieces.  I’ll have those days when I’m out shopping and I’ll buy the brightest, most attention calling pair of pants or I’ll just buy like 10 different basics. I guess that is how life works, hehe.

To add some fun into my outfit, I decided to pair it with my furry sandals and red cross body bag, both pieces from Zara. I kept my jewelry pretty simple, adding a cuff and hoop earrings (I am obsessed with them!).

What I wore: Top: Via Vai (Panamanian Store) | T-shirt: GAP | Shorts: MinkPink  (old) | Handbag: Zara (similar here) | Sandals: Zara (similar here) |Cuff: Mango | Hoop earrings: Nueve Musas (Panamanian Store)
