Stripes for Spring

Flowers for spring is kind of a given. Year after year Spring/Summer runway collections are filled with flowers or leave patterns, which is why stripes are such a refreshing take for spring.

Be it the typical sailor stripes, or more of an art deco inspired striped pattern, stripes are EVERYWHERE. Pants, dresses, tops, shorts, handbags, shoes… you name it!

When I saw this dress by Lucca Couture in Shop Belleville, I did a little happy dance. Because as most of you know by now, I’m not very big on bright colors, even though I’m trying to expand my color scheme from my usual black and white. The colors in this dress are right up my alley, and I love the way the stripes are used! Vertical stripes elongate the body and give the impression of a slimmer figure, which is why I prefer them over horizontal stripes.

I love comfortable dresses for the weekend! In Panama, Sunday’s are for walking through the colourful streets of Casco Antiguo. If you have ever visited, you know how colorful Sunday’s are in Casco. There are tons of activities going on: concerts, flea markets, photoshoots… And this dress is perfect to enjoy all the activities, while looking perfectly polished and in style. There is no need to sacrifice style for comfort.

What I wore: Dress: Lucca Couture | Bucket Bag: Kate Spade | Sunglasses: Forever 21 | Platforms: Pull&Bear (old) | Bracelet: Daniel Espinosa
