Closet Staple: Silk Button-Down Shirt

Just like a white V-neck, red lipstick, nude heels and a little black dress, a silk button-down shirt is a staple that every woman needs in her closet. They are wearable, versatile and flattering. What more do you need to know about them? Hehe, just kidding.

Because of their relaxed silhouette they can be paired with almost anything. They are great for layering or wearing on their. You can even roll up your sleeves and add tons of bracelets. The sky is the limit.

Here I paired my silk button down with a pair of Stone Cold Fox olive shorts. Because I work as a fashion stylist/ image consultant/ personal shopper, I could wear this to work, but for most of you this might not work. Instead you can pair you silk button-down shirt with palazzo pants or a pencil skirt for a chic and collected, totally empowered woman look.

If you are going to splurge on one, go for one in a nude tone. Every woman already owns a white collared shirt, so why choose a white silk blouse? Nude is the perfect tone to transition from season to season, and it will go with everything in your closet.

What I wore: Silk shirt: To Be Adored | Shorts: Stone Cold Fox | Heels: Saint Laurent | Clutch: Aldo | Sunglasses: Spektre
